Da Vinci Squirrel Mix, also known as Petit Gris, are high-quality brushes made with a mix of Russian blue squirrel hair and a synthetic squirrel imitation fibre. The thick reservoir of the belly is designed for maximum water holding, ensuring each brush lays down softly textured washes of watercolor or gouache. It is a versatile and flexible brush that is more affordable in larger sizes for wash and mop techniques. They are made according to certified green manufacturing with lacquered sustainable wood handles and rust resistant silver ferrules. Brushes are handmade in Germany at the da Vinci family owned factory since 1890.

Da Vinci Russian Blue Squirrel Brushes are significantly longer and larger than other brands, and are ideal for mop and wash techniques, for priming, and for area work. Many of the brush shapes in the line are made from pure Russian Blue Squirrel hair. Available in international sizes No. 1 to No. 30 without sizes 7, 9, 11 and 28.
